EVERYTHING must be done online, in chat, or thru texts. EVER!!!!! They tell you on their automated phone site that they do this so they can keep fares low. THEY DO NOT HAVE A HUMAN ANSWEREING ANY PHONES. She had us fill out a claim form, gave me the claim number( I took a pic of the form because you don't get a copy) and told us that if they couldn't find it the next day, 7/3/23, we should go buy everything we had in the bag, PLUS an American Tourister soft side suitcase to replace the one they lost. As soon as the last bag was picked up she came to me and asked if my bag was missing. There was a Breeze employee standing next to the wall at #4 carousel the whole time I was waiting on my bag. When we arrived in Norfolk, my bag was missing. This year? We checked 2 bags, one for my wife and one for me. We knew what was coming, and sure enough, they canceled the flight, We had to schedule the next flight which was in 3 days, they only flew to Norfolk twice a week back then They cost us 3 days hotel and food, Then, after moving 100 feet from the gat we were told that the "fix" didn't work, and we had to go back to the gate and deplane. It started off with a "It's only going to be 10 minutes" Then that turned into 45 minutes "without AC," at which time we pushed back. ![]() The ONLY reason we did was because last year at this same time they canceled the flight back from Norfolk to Pittsburgh WHILE WE WERE ALREADY ON THE PLANE FOR OVER AN HOUR. These point-to-point non stops flights can be a great option when they work as planned.We flew Breeze Pittsburgh to Norfolk 7/2/23. If you are comfortable with the risk of having a several day delay, or needing to book last minute flights on a different carrier, then go for it. Since then I've stuck with bigger carriers, even if it means a connecting flight. I did get a refund from the cancelled flight, but it was far less than the cost of a last minute new ticket. I was never able to get back home in a reasonable timeframe, and had to book alternate means on my own, on my own dime. I had bad luck with one of either Frontier and Spirit when a flight was cancelled (no fault of their own). With the larger carriers who offer more flight options to get you to your destination sooner. On some routes they may fligh the route only a few times a week, and there is no guarantee you'lll fit on the next flight anyway. It may be several days, or more - there really is no Plan B option for that same day. The issue is "what happens when something goes wrong." When is the next flight on Breeze that you could get if your flight is cancelled for some reason, including weather back home.? I have no info about Breeze, but I do have other experience on other carriers who have offered these very handy non-stop point to point flights (Frontier, Spirit). ![]()
